Medical board begins work on redrafting telehealth rules
Governor Mike DeWine signed into law Substitute House Bill 122 (Telehealth Services) on December 22, 2021. The new telehealth law, which will become effective on Wednesday, March 23, authorizes the State Medical Board of Ohio (SMBO) to adopt rules necessary to implement it.
Representing OPPA are members, Alan Levy, MD, Victoria Kelly MD and Mackenzie Varcula, DO will serve on the work group to share their experiences and perspectives to the SMBO’s efforts to re-write Ohio’s post pandemic telehealth regulations.
The OPPA will participate in additional stakeholder meetings during the rules drafting process, closely monitoring developments and reporting them to the OPPA council and general membership.
