Psychologists should NOT prescribe to veterans
The Veterans Affairs Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives is considering legislation that would allow psychologists to prescribe and manage medication within the Veterans Health Administration under a new proposed pilot program.
We need your help to warn Congress about the dangers of this program!
No state allows psychologists to prescribe or manage medications without medical clinician involvement given the lack of medical education and training required for psychologists. Why should we allow our Nation's Veterans to receive a sub-standard level of care? Particularly when many Veterans have acute mental health illness and often have co-occurring physical health conditions.
Write your members of Congress today to tell them that our Veterans deserve the highest level of care!
