The Health Policy Institute of Ohio (HPIO) has released Ohio Medicaid Basics 2019.

Medicaid pays for health care services for about three million Ohioans with low incomes, including more than 1.2 million children. Medicaid spending accounts for more than one-third of Ohio’s budget and almost 17% of health expenditures nationally.

Released to coincide with the state biennial budget, Ohio Medicaid Basics is a foundational summary of the state-federal program. The 2019 edition provides an overview of Ohio Medicaid eligibility, enrollment, and financing. The brief also includes an update on Medicaid expansion enrollment trends and spending.

HPIO has created Medicaid Basics every two years since 2005.
